The lady parked next to me at Walmart the other day had 3 puppies in her truck...she said she had picked them up off the side of the road, the mother was killed...what do you think she has in her?????

She is the sweetest thing...she loves to be outside and gets along with our other 2 dogs and with the kids!

Her name for the time being is Brindle (original I know...). She may go with us to Lubbock tomorrow so I can find her a home.

Just some random things...

Capri Sun is doing a recycle program that our school is participating in, we collect ALL drink pouches, I take them home and rinse them out and send them in, they send us $.02 per pouch! This is what my kitchen looks like much of the time.

HELLO!!!!!! Well, since I have been MIA, I have a lot to cover...bear with me, there are a lot of things that went on around here in the last month!

We will start before spring break....

This is a neet little egg mold pan I got at walmart, they pored the cake batter in these to make the eggs for the top of the cake!

here is the finished cake..."Hunting for Easter Eggs", they didn't win anything but they had a good time making it and it sure was yummy!!

Well, that about sums it up! Our laptop was going a little crazy when we left for spring break, but now...NOTHING!!! Tadd is going to wipe it out completly and start over, I did get all my pictures off of it first. I am using my MIL's laptop but I can not put any pictures on here, so I can not post about our spring break! Stay tuned!

well, Ethan got to go to a birthday party by himself Saturday night (this doesn't usually happen), they watched a movie and had popcorn...then Bethany's BFF Destiny invited her to go with her and her brothers and Babe (grandmother) to Clovis to see Mall Cop on Sunday. So, Tyler was feeling a little left out! While Tadd was sleeping (he is on graveyards) and Sam was down for her after church nap, and Ethan was at the neighbors house, Tyler and I went to Sonic and got the $1 Candy Ice cream treat.

Remodel...as promised!

This is a remodel project we started last year... this year it was mostly touch up paint, painting the ceiling, trim, build a shelf, finish tearing down wall paper in the kitchen, new sink faucet another hanging light above the table, spray painting everything that didn't match (recess light covers, ac vents...) just the little things that take so long to finish! ITS DONE!!!

HAHAHAHA, 2 posts in one day...betcha didn't think I could do that!!! Kids are all asleep and Tadd is working graveyards...dishwasher is going, laundry is folded and ready to be put away, and I am ready to get this finished and go to bed!!! :)

Then we had Ethan's boy scout lock in! Now let me tell you that boy scouts is a daddy thing, from the beginning Tadd and I agreed that he did all the boy scout things and I would stay out of it! well, Tadd was in the middle of working 3 12 hour shifts back to back, going in at 2am and getting home at 2 in the afternoon, so; the boy scout lock in is from 5 in the evening till 2am (Tadd's sleeping time) so if I didn't take him then he would have to miss, so I did....there is more to this story... the whole group

Too funny...some of them used the cafeteria tables as a fort! (Ethan is on the very end)

Then came the scooter races...these were fun to watch...

this is were the story gets good...around 11:00 the boys took these scooters out to the hallway where there is a slight incline (ramp) between the old building and the new addition...all was fun until the adults got involved...kids can only go so fast by themselves, the adults (read 'dads') on the other hand started getting a little carried away...at first it was fun for someone to push you and then you had to try to steer yourself around the corner to avoid smashing into the wall...well I got on for like the 3rd time (yeah I know I need to act my age) and 2 of the dads pushed me a little too fast, one of the kids stepped out in front of me on accident and I tried to slow myself down, well I STOPED myself and landed smack down on my knees!!! OMG I have some pretty nasty bruises still!!!

These are some of the skid marks on the ground where you have to either go left or right or crash into the wall....apparently some of us cannot control the scooters very well!!

Everyone getting their beds ready to watch the movie...we watched Clone Wars and had popcorn! The lock in ended about 1:30am and Ethan and I got home just in time to tell daddy goodbye...

then, I had to get up Sunday morning to teach the little kids Sunday school class, Tyler had a program at noon so I was just going to teach and then sneak out before church started...someone parked behind me!!!! long story short, Thanks Kurt for letting me take your suburban!!! We made it to the program and came home a took a LONG nap!!!

sorry, I have been MIA! a few school things, field trips, parties, read with me's, boyscout lock-ins, pinewood derby race, remodeling, recycle projects, sorority meeting, sick children, hubby working shifts, Kids First crafts...ETC.... lots going on!
this will be a picture post with explanations in-between.

Bethanys sleepover...yes, this is the only picture I got...that party was a blast! The girls had soooo much fun!

These next few are from our outing to the Wildlife Refuge just outside of town...this is the time of the year when all the Sand Hill Cranes are here, they fill the little lakes that are out at the refuge...didn't get many pictures of the birds, just the kids!

Well, Christmas is over...the damage is done...we survived school parties, work parties, church activities, children's Christmas plays, 5 days in New Orleans including a 32 hour round trip drive and back just in time for Christmas with the In-Laws. Christmas day was very relaxing though, we spent most of the day at home alone.
We got a new mini DVD camcorder, we are not very good at working it yet, we lost everything we recorded while opening gifts at my moms and the kids opening gifts Christmas morning here at home! I did manage to get a few pictures in though...enjoy!

Look who we saw the other day...all decked up for Christmas!

here is my way of keeping my 14 month old out of my tree!

this is usually how group shots start out...Sam just wants to run to me

if I am lucky sometimes I can get a half decent one!

We had to down-size our tree this year...the one we have had for many years broke last year, it is an older tree, you have to wrap lights around each branch while you attach each individual branch on the tree...it takes a long time to do. So I went out looking for a tree stand and they were around $17, well at the dollar store, this nice little PRE LIT tree that comes in TWO pieces was only $25 so I got it!!

these next few pictures are of the kids playing at the park...this is the same park I use to play at growing up! It was fun...this is the first time I have been able to take the kids there, before the hurricane they were too little and after the hurricane the park has been a mess, well, since the last time we were there, they cut down the dead trees and are taking care of the grass...it looks really good!
This is the play equipment and rubber-floor-stuff my dads construction company put in when I was in JR. High!

this is one of Tyler's gifts from my mom, we went to Build a Bear and he chose to build an alligator - AKA Flick! (despite the look on is face...he really does like it, he just didn't want his picture taken)

When we were little, mom and dad would put up big ribbon over the hall doorway so we wouldn't go into the living room on Christmas morning with out them...this is a tradition I have kept with...this is actually the grand opening ribbon from when I had my ballet studio!

....And the children were nestled as snug in their beds while visions of sugar plums danced in their heads!

These are some I took with our new camcorder, the quality is not as good as my camera...
they are the only ones I got Christmas day! after I lost the video I kinda gave up!

Well for those of you who dont know, this years PTA prestident....is ME! I have really had a great time this year, we have a GREAT officers board...a really FUN group of moms that I am pleased to call my friends also!! Well this weekend was our annual Fall Festival, our biggest fundraiser of the year. Each year we take the money we raise at the Fall Festival and buy some really neet things for our 2 elementary schools, in the past we have bought TV's for the class rooms, t-shirts, Tuesday folders, a cool canopy for the picknick tables...and more...
this year we had a record number of posters turned in, made by the kids, to advertise for the festival, we also had WAY more kids turn out for the costume contest..so much fun!! We even ran out of tickets! TONS of parents and teachers and administrative personal turned out to voluntere their time Friday night and Saturday...and we truely appreciate all!!!! The night went off without a single problem (except a little one who threw up!)
Anyway...all this to say...anyone reading this that helped out this weekend...

Well...I knew it was coming sooner than I would realize...Samantha is 1 year old!!!! A big deal I know...but a very sad day in my heart. We had a small party for her here at the house, 2 of her little friends came and her cousin and of course her brothers and sister, mom, dad, Meme, Memar & Aunt Tisha.
Here are a few of the pictures I got. Our Photographer Faith was here to capture some moments with pictures too, so I will share those when we get them.

Another Summer trip...this time to Albuquerque

This trip was a last min. kind of trip...My sister Laurelin, had a dr. apt. in Albuquerque and she was going by herself, so, she had the day to do whatever. Tadd also happened to be off that day! At 6:30 am we packed up the kids, some snacks and a few changes of clothes (in case...) and headed out. We arrived there just as she got done with the dr. and we went to this place called "Explora" (thanks to Deborah for the suggestion!). Talk about FUN!!!! We all had a blast!

If you are ever in Albequerque you have to look this place up!!!! It was absolutly the best afternoon of learning!!!
After we left Explora, we took the kids to see Wall-E...I guess it was good, they liked it, I liked the little that I saw...Samantha was totaly NOT interrested, so we spent the other hour and a half walking around the lobby!!
We finaly made it home around 1am...next post...Bethany had Mini Mule Cheerleading camp the next morning at 8am and Tadd had a board meeting at 10am!

Relay For Life - "Faith, Hope & Jayci Joy"

Friday night all 4 kids, Tadd and I participated in our county's Relay For Life. Our team name was Faith, Hope and Jayci "Joy" and consisted of all children! Jayci Joy is the 2 1/2 year old daughter of a friend of mine, last summer Jayci was diagnosed with Cancer. After several 'close calls', round after round of chemo, and LOTS and LOTS of prayers, Jayci is cancer free!!! We participated in this event to celebrate Jayci's life and the miracles that GOD has done in and through her little life!

Well I did it, I survived our first big school field trip!!! I must say, traveling 60+ miles each way on a school bus is not my idea of fun! Seeing all those kids jumping around and not one wearing a seat belt (when most of them should still be in car seats!!!) for those of you that don't know, I am a STICKLER for car seats!!!
Anyway, we had a lot of fun...we got to see the dinosaur exhibit, (Ethan's favorite) we got to see and touch and play with all kinds of neet things, we got to see how things worked and sound moves and bubbles...it was a fun day. Here are some pictures of what we did.

Talking to my mom on the phone yesterday morning, we were talking about Samantha and how little she is compared to my niece and blah blah blah, not sitting up yet, but trying blah blah blah. I was telling her that Sam loves tummy time and she will lay in her quilt my mom made and just play with her toys for a long time, very contently. All of a sudden she got one knee underneath her, mom said she would be crawling with in the week. I said, no way! it will take her another few weeks to even get the other one there, then she has to get up on ALL 4's....well this is what I caught her doing! (please excuse the nakedness, we are trying to clear up a diaper rash by letting her go naked a few times a day!)

OK, never done this before but here it goes...
7 random things about me you may not know

1) I love to drink hot tea in the mornings, I can not start my day without! It is an "addiction" I required from my dad who spend a summer in Russia and brought the tradition back to us.

2) I was a nanny for Tadd's cousin in New Orleans while I was in College, that is how we met.

3) I am so totally afraid of wasps...there was one in my house yesterday and by the time I got my neighbor over, it was gone...it was terrible, all I did all day was look for it, well it finally came out of hiding and flew to the back door and Tadd killed it!!!! They chase me all the time, if I see one outside, I will drop what I am doing and run inside...it is quite pathetic.

4) I am so very allergic to cats and rabbits. we are talking about full blown asthma attack!! My Mother-In-Law had a cat in the house years ago and when she moves furniture around or vacuums, I can not be there.

5) I love scrapbooking and making hair bows for my girls, but lately I can not seem to find the time to do either!

6) I dont like cheese!! Weird I know! when I was little I would not even eat pizza, I will now, and I like mac n cheese, but that is as far as it goes.

7) About 2 years ago I got tired of all the foolishness on TV, I hated the stupid commercials more than anything, and usually past 10am there was nothing good on for the kids, so we turned off the cable and it has been wonderful. We just signed up for that NetFlix and so far we love it. we can buy the kids DVD's and know what they are watching!!!!

Spring Break!

Spring Break...with Tadd working shift work, we never really know if we are going to get to enjoy the holidays as a family and get to go out of town. Well this year Spring Break fell on his 5 days off, so we packed up and headed north (well north-west). We went to visit my sister and brother-in-law in Farmington NM. We had a great time! We got there late Saturday night/Sunday morning. Sunday we sat around the house all morning, then took the kids to this really cool park, then went skating (even Samantha got in on that action! she fell asleep while I was pushing her around!) Monday we woke up to snow on the ground!! we went to walk around the mall and kill time, we saw that the Easter Bunny was there, so we had the kids picture taken. It started snowing again!! We are talking big-huge-fluffy-floating-flakes! it was the prettiest snow I have seen! Then we went to this indoor aquatic center and let the kids swim for about 3 hours!!! They had a blast. When we got home, the kids took a bath in Lulu's new BIG tub, now that is fun! We really enjoyed visiting with Lulu and Uncle Andrew...cannot wait to do it again!

I promise that one day I will get this thing up and running. It just seems that life gets away from us from time to time. Tadd is back on shift work starting this week, which should be nice.
As I type this, I am listening to the kids outside playing ball with Tadd. The weather is just soooooo beautiful!! They are practicing for T-Ball. I guess I need to get to the grocery store and start on dinner, maybe get some laundry done and MAYBE get some sleep tonight!!! Miss. Samantha has been doing sooooo well, sleeping for 7 or 8 hours a night, well last night she was going 3 or 4 and then waking up to eat again!!! So...needless to say, I have been one tired momma today!
Well I guess that is all for today
